UAE Sterilization Extended until April 5 | Stay Home
UAE national sterilization program which is being carried out from 08:00 PM to 06:00 am is Extended until April 5, Confirmed by MoHAP and MOI on Saturday. This is part of the authorities' efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Timings are same as previous, Residents have been directed to stay
home during this time, limiting movement strictly and to not leave their homes
except to buy food, basic essentials and medicines. Whoever does not comply
with these directives will pay a fine and/or face prison time.
Important
Guidelines:
·
Don't step out of
your home unless absolutely necessary. Violators will be jailed and/or fined.
·
Public transport
will be suspended during this period.
·
Taxis and private
transport will be allowed, but authorities will ensure that those stepping out
have a genuine reason to do so.
·
Traffic movement
will be restricted.
·
Unless it is for
buying food or medicines, residents must not step out.
·
Supermarkets and
pharmacies will remain open, but the number of people allowed inside at a time
will be restricted. Dubai Economy had earlier directed these outlets to take
just 30% of their capacity.
·
Those working in
some vital sectors (mentioned below) can step out, but authorities will check their IDs.
·
Gatherings are
not allowed. This includes family gatherings, desert outings, etc.
·
Communicate with
your loved ones with phones or through social media.
·
All public
transportation in the UAE, including the Dubai Metro, will come to a halt from 8pm until 6am from March 28 to April 5, according to the Ministry of Health and
Community Protection and the Ministry of Interior.
Public
Transport Suspension Notice:
According
to previous statement by MoHAP, started March 26, 08:00 PM to March 29 06:00 AM which is not extended till April 5, the traffic
will be restricted countrywide and public transportation and metro services
will be suspended during disinfection drive.
The
stoppage is part of a National Sterilization Program, which will include:

Stay
at Home:
The
Ministries of Health and the Interior called upon the public to stay at home
throughout the sterilization period, and not to go out except to buy food and
medicines or to work in vital sectors such as:

Communications
·
Health

Education
·
Security and the
police
·
Military
·
Postal, shipping
·
Pharmaceuticals
·
Water and food
sector
·
Civil aviation,
airports
·
Financial and
banking
·
Government media
and the services sector which includes gas stations and construction projects.
The
ministries said food outlets, cooperative societies, groceries and supermarkets
and pharmacies will be allowed to operate.
Dubai
Police has repeatedly stressed the importance of residents fully complying with
directives issued by authorities to safeguard public health.
Heavy
Fine for Violators:
Non-compliance
with safety measures will lead to imprisonment and/or a fine of between Dh200,
000 and Dh1 million, the police said.
