Coronavirus Cases to be treated free of cost in UAE | Insurance Not Necessary


Good News for UAE Residents, Coronavirus cases in UAE to be treated free of cost, another good thing is that insurance is not necessary as all cases of COVID-19 will be treated as emergencies.




Yes its true, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) issued a circular to hospitals based on directives from Ministry of Health and prevention (MoHAP) that all DHA licensed health facilities must consider confirmed coronavirus patients as emergency cases.

Dubai Health Authority:
This is to ensure the health and safety of the community and to contain patients with confirmed or suspected infection, and provide them with proper health services.

People with Insurance Policy:
If the patient has insurance, the cases shall be treated as emergencies according to insurance regulation and insurance companies will pay any claims received," said the circular.




People without Insurance Policy:
For those who are not insured, "the cases shall still be considered emergencies and suspected or confirmed cases will not bear any payment of healthcare costs at any healthcare facilities".

Currently there are 333 coronavirus patients in UAE. As per MoHAP all of them are being treated and in stable condition.

Schools and colleges closed:
As a precautionary measure all schools, colleges and universities in UAE to close for 4 weeks (1 month) starting from Sunday including both public and private institutes.

The school is being sanitized as per international best practices in preventive measures against the coronavirus.

Dubai Health Authority is working closely with the Ministry of Health (MoHAP) and other authorities and stakeholders to take counter measures against the disease in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and standards.
