Eid Longest Weekend Ever | 7 Days Off announced for Private Sector Employees
Yes it's true, The UAE has announced that there will be a full week off for both Federal Government employees and private sector employees on Eid Al fitr 2024 starting from Monday, April 8 until Sunday, April 14. Work will resume on Monday, April 15.
9 Holidays scenario:
Adding Weekend, April 6,7 (Saturday, Sunday) to official 7 holidays will make it more enjoyable. The Public and Private Sector employees will enjoy 9 days off for the first time making it the longest break ever in the history of UAE.

Remaining Holidays of 2024:
After Eid Al Fitr holidays, the next break will be to mark the Islamic festival of Eid Al Adha, which will see residents get 4 days off excluding the weekend in June. Holidays for Islamic New Year on Muharram 1st in July and Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in September will follow. The last public holiday is to mark the UAE National Day on December 2 and 3, 2024.

Is there any penalty imposed for employers forcing their employees to work on Public holidays? Our company is under oil manufacturing industry and the owner refused to give us holidays and wants us to work same like regular days without any additional compensation.
