Dubai Traffic Fines Discount 2017
Year
of Giving is just 6 months old and we have already received many great news, Let
us say Thank You to “His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum”
for the Good News before EID.
It
is great news for all those who got a big backlog of fines to pay, as those who
have accumulated traffic fine in 2016 or before will just pay half amount.
It’s
true, if you have fines backed up from 2016, 2015 or 2017 (so on), they will be
halved from 1st July 2017. Point to be noted that this is just for
Dubai not for other Emirates.
According
to Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police,
that Shaikh Mohammad’s order comes in support of the initiatives of the Year of
Giving, which was declared by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed
Al Nahyan before EID AL FITR.
Earlier
this month, DUBAI POLICE traffic department pardoned drivers who committed
minor offences over the month of Ramadan.
Major
General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, commander in chief of Dubai Police, said in
the spirit of the Holy Month and the Year of Giving, motorists had been asked
to sign “obligation letters” in place of a fine.
“Instead
of issuing traffic fine to a motorist who committed a minor offence, we hand
over notes and flyers to them and ask them to sign an obligation letter that
they won’t repeat the offence again,”
We
can’t wait to hear what the rest of the Year of Giving has in store for UAE
Expats. I Remember, 2016 was the Year of Reading, 2017 is the Year of Giving
and now wondering what 2018 will be?
